On the Valentine's Day, i saw a sad incident which happened on my way to PS. A young motorist in blue t-shirt and black shorts was lying on the back of the wheel of a bus (which seems to be reversing out) with a bouquet of flower on the floor. He must be on his way to meet his gf when this accident took place. Just hope the young motorist is ok already.

After our lunch, we went for movie at The Cathay, Black Swan.

I was impressed by Natalie Portman acting as she triggers your emotion as you watch the movie.

An award ceremony that one should not missed as its going to be FUSED with many many talented groups, artistes and great performances. Its definitely an event where cheers are loud and teeth chatters as results broadcast! I hope I am able to catch this award ceremony this year! Its definitely going to be awesome!

Local talents such as 陈洁仪, 黄靖伦, 何维健, 龚芝怡, 郑可为 and 插班生 had already confirmed their attendance! WOW! Overseas artistes are coming as well!! They are 倪安东 (!!)，Lollipop F，Ella (!!!), Namcha，SIGMA，dayDream，小鬼黄鸿升，and SE7EN!!! I suppose more are coming though! :D *Excited*

After our shopping trip, we had decided to go Sentosa Flower. The sun was shining very brightly and the weather was humid. Hence, we had decided to come back in the evening. After which, rain pours and we had waited for the rain to stop before proceed to the Sentosa Broadwalk.

Derrick Hoh Campus Concert

9 Feb 2011 (Wed) - Received a msg from Yes 93.3fm saying that i had won a pair of ticket to Derrick Hoh Campus Concert that evening. It was quite last min and i am deciding not to attend at first, but had changed my mind in the end to attend it instead. It was my first time attending campus concert. We had gotten the VIP seats and its was third row from the stage. The host for that night was Yes 93.3fm DJ Chen Ai Wei. The auditorium was filled with audiences and standing crowd. Derrick Hoh sing the first song 当我知道你们相爱 with his dancer followed by 空位, 你走天桥，我走地下道, 爱的故事 and the last song 你。我.

After the concert, my sis and i went to Makan place for our dinner before heading home.

Diet soda, salt boost stroke risk
Posted: 10 February 2011 0558 hrs

WASHINGTON: A pair of studies released on Wednesday suggest that diet soda drinkers face a higher risk of heart attack and stroke than people who do not drink any soda, and that salty food boosts stroke risks, too.

The soda study examined 2,564 people in Manhattan and found that those who reported consuming diet fizzy drinks daily had a 61 percent higher risk of vascular events than people who said they did not drink any soda at all.

When researchers factored in allowances for metabolic syndrome, peripheral vascular disease and heart disease history, the risk was 48 percent higher, said the research presented at the American Stroke Association's International Stroke Conference.

"If our results are confirmed with future studies, then it would suggest that diet soda may not be the optimal substitute for sugar-sweetened beverages," said lead study author Hannah Gardener at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.

A second study looked at 2,657 participants in the same area and found that high salt intake was linked to a dramatically increased risk of ischemic strokes, in which a blockage cuts blood flow to the brain.

People who reported eating more than 4,000 milligrams of sodium daily - the amount contained in four large orders of french fries in the United States - faced twice the risk of stroke as people who consumed less than 1,500 milligrams per day.

The average American consumes about 3,000 milligrams of salt per day, according to the study, though previous research has said it could be as high as 4,000 milligrams per day.

"Stroke risk, independent of hypertension, increased 16 percent for every 500 milligrams of sodium consumed a day," allowing for adjustments for age, sex, ethnicity, education, alcohol use, exercise, daily caloric intake, smoking status, diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure and previous heart disease, it said.

Current dietary guidelines in the United States urge people to consume less that 2,300 milligrams of sodium per day, or about a teaspoon of salt. The American Heart Association recommends less than 1,500 milligrams per day.

My sis and I decided to go for a movie. We wanted to catch the 4 plus slot but it was almost fully book thus we had to catch it at 6 plus. While waiting for the time to pass, we went for some photo taking outside AMK Hub which was decorated with Chinese New Year decoration. After which had our dinner and then movie - The Green Hornet.

Some review say that this movie is nice, other say otherwise. Therefore, its best to watch it yourself and you can review it too. Overall, the movie is average.

Remember that i mention before in my previous post regarding 倪安東 Anthony Neely, he is from 超级星光大道 5. He is in Singapore for his first autograph session on 29 Jan 2011 (Saturday) at Bugis Junction at 5pm. The rain had stopped at ard 5pm but started dizzling before the event started.

The first song that he sing at the event was his English song, Sorry That I Love You.

The second song is a Chinese song 散場的擁抱.

After this event, Mei Hui and I went for our dinner and shopping before heading home.

Meet my sis at Bugis for some shopping. We had pig trotter for our lunch before going for our shopping. We spotted a crowd at the entrance of Bugis Junction and decided to have a peek at it. To our surprise, it was The Green Hornet roadshow. Thus, we went into the crowd and have a glimpse of the main casts, Jay Chou and Seth Rogen.

After the casts had leave, we continue with our shopping. We had a gloomy encounter with a sale promotor. She was so desperate for sales and every item you tried she would say its a good deal to buy all this. After saying yes, i would like to get this, she rushed to the counter to ask me to pay for the item which i haven't finish looking at other item on the display. *piss off*

That day was a good eye opening experience shopping trip for me. While waiting for the bus to come, i spotted a secondary school classmate, jacq but i din went up to talk to her cos we are not very close. Haha!

9 Jan 2011 (Sunday) - 喜事年年 Prosperity Roadshow at Toa Payoh HDB Hub. A day before the show debut on weekdays on channel 8 at 9pm. Have you all been watching this show? I had enjoyed watching Yong Jie, Natalie, Si-En, Janice and Tim part.

Two hours of TV-watching boosts heart risk

WASHINGTON: People who spend more than two hours per day of leisure time watching television or sitting in front of a screen face double the risk of heart disease and higher risk of dying, said a study on Monday.

Researchers said the effect was seen regardless of how much people exercised, indicating that how we choose to spend our free time away from work has a huge impact on our overall health.

"It is all a matter of habit. Many of us have learned to go back home, turn the TV set on and sit down for several hours - it's convenient and easy to do," said Emmanuel Stamatakis, expert in epidemiology and public health at University College London.

"But doing so is bad for the heart and our health in general," said Stamatakis, who along with the other study authors is advocating public health guidelines to warn of the risks of being inactive during non-work hours.

Such warnings are urgent, "especially as a majority of working age adults spend long periods being inactive while commuting or being slouched over a desk or computer," said the study in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology.

Researchers studied data from 4,512 adults who took part in the Scottish Health Survey of households.

The information on screen time came from self-reported data about TV or DVD watching, leisure time computer use and playing video games.

When scientists compared people who reported spending less than two hours a day in front of screen-based entertainment to those who spent four or more hours per day, they found a 48 percent higher risk of death from any cause.

In those spending just two or more hours per day in front of screen after work, they also found a 125 percent higher risk of cardiovascular events such as heart attack.

"These associations were independent of traditional risk factors such as smoking, hypertension, BMI (body mass index), social class, as well as exercise," the study noted.

However researchers were able to make associations between the levels of inflammation and cholesterol in sedentary people.

"One fourth of the association between screen time and cardiovascular events was explained collectively by C-reactive protein (CRP), body mass index, and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol," said the study.

CRP, an indicator of low-grade inflammation, was about twice as high in people who spent more than four hours of free time daily in front of a screen compared to people who spent less than two hours a day.

Stamatakis said he intends to continue to study how prolonged sitting impacts human health and how lifestyle changes could be advocated to reduce the amount of time people spend inactive.

8 Days Turns 20!

I had went for 8 Days turns 20! event at Nex yesterday. I really forgotten how long had i missed attending events.

The usual wait for the celebrity, and yes its Felicia Chin. The host for the day is class 95fm DJ. The event was a short one with interviews and playing of games with the audiences.

Managed to find the image of my 2 idols, which is just side by side to each other. :)

Lastly under the spotlight. hehe..

Last event that i had attended before the new year come or it will be my last event which i am attending..

Last day of 2010, I went for the 8 days event again. My sis and I rushed off from our grandpa's place after collection of stuffs. When we reached Nex, the event had started and Elvin Ng and Jade Seah were on the stage playing games with the audiences.

Both teams have the same score for the spot the difference game.

Lunch at Earle Swensen's. Ritz Biscuits had impress me. A normal biscuits can taste so special and had influenced me to grab a box home.

Had our meeting at Kranji in the late morning and cross the causeway to JB for our 1 day trip. Just when we reached city square, we looked for food to fill our stomach first. =x

After shopping for quite awhile, its tea break. Haha.. Love the red bean grass jelly.

A day past very fast, its evening time. We had our dinner at Kim Gary. Food served were acceptable and leave us with a good impression before we leave.

Its kinda of mixed feeling which carried along with me to the airport.

After our dinner, we went up to the departure hall for photo taking. While we though we were still early and strolled to our gate, we were caught by the screen screaming last call. Oops..

This photo was taken 3 plus in the morning from the window view and its around 6 hrs on board SQ 227.

20 Nov 2010 (Saturday) - Day 2 Melbourne

Our first attraction that we visited after we reached Capital of Victoria was Queen Victoria Market. Its a place to get local produce handicrafts and souvenirs.

Simply love the weather over there, its so cooling.

Followed by our next attraction at St. Patrick's Cathedral.

After which, we dropped by Little Malaysia for our lunch. Curry chicken was the bulk of our serving.

After our lunch, we stopped by the Parliament House to have a glimpse of their structure.

After checking into our hotel, we went for our dinner at Crowne Plaza. After dinner, we had a strolled along the Yarra River. It seems like strolling along clarke quay but the only difference were the people and weather.

21 Nov 2010 (Sunday) - Day 3 Melbourne

We woke up early and had a strolled outside our hotel before proceeding to had our buffet breakfast at the hotel.

After our breakfast, we proceed to our first attraction of the day, Puffing Billy. It was Australia's oldest stream train that travel through the lush forest.

A photo taken with the handsome conductor, they were either volunteers or retirees.

After our ride, we went for our lunch at Grants. Our first fish and chip meals over there.

After our lunch, we continue to our next attraction, Phillip Island Chocolate Factory.

Visit Panny's Amazing World of Chocolate to view the world's largest chocolate waterfall, chocolate art gallery and chocolate village.

Take a stroll along the boardwalks and view the coastal sceneries at the Nobbies.

After our dinner at Wing Ho Chinese Restuarant, we went for our last attraction of the day to witness the famous fairy pengiun parade on the beach as the fairy penguins return from feeding at the sea.

The penguins parade was an eye opening experience as you see the fairy pengiuns strolling up the sea in small groups and walking back to their home. Fairy pengiuns are around 30cm in height and we were able to see them within distance as they made their way back.

22 Nov 2010 (Monday) - Day 4 Great Ocean Road

After our breakfast, we headed off to Great Ocean Road.

After a few hours on the winding road, we stopped by George's food court for our lunch. We had ordered a fishermans basket and george's pizza. The fish meat was very soft and tasty as compare to the Grants and the pizza was delicious too. A fulfilling lunch we had before continuing to our journey to Twelve Apostles.

The Twelve Apostles are giant rock stacks that rise majestically from the Southern Ocean and are the central feature of the rugged Port Campbell National Park.

Heading back to our hotel after a long day at Great Ocean Road.

After reaching our hotel, we headed out to Swanston Street.

After which, we went back to hotel for our dinner.

23 Nov 2010 (Tuesday) - Day 5 Sydney

Today we took a domestic flight from Melbourne to Sydney.

After around an hour plus flight on Virgin Blue, we reached Sydney.

After we leaving the Sydney Airport, our coach bus passby a unique icon which was a match stick with one new and one burnt, and our tour leader told us, it symbolise that you will shorten your life by smoking.

Our tour guide drove us around King Cross to have a view of the city skyline. After which, we stopped by at Royal Botanic Garden to have a panoramic view of Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge.

Visted Mrs Macquaries Chair.

After our attraction, we had our lunch at Zilver Seafood Restaurant. I was attracted by the stretch of photos hanging on the side of the wall and pillars. I will always remember the delicious long bean which was served.

After our lunch, we carried on to our next attraction, Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge.

Followed by Sydney Aquarium which houses the largest Great Barrier Reef display in the world and home to over 12,000 animals, including sharks, giant rays, platypus and penguins.

The romantic Darling Harbour and Cockle Bay Wharf where many leisure yachts were docked.

Continue to Sydney Wildlife World and meet some of the animals like the red kangaroos and the adorable Koalas.

Simply can't resist this chicken and vegetable noodles, it was marvelous. The chicken and noodles was cooked till it was just right. Yum Yum! But it cost AUD 10, very expensive noodle. =x

After a long day, we checked in to our hotel, Mercure.

24 Nov 2010 (Wednesday) - Day 6 Sydney

Began the day with a visit to Sydney Fish Market which offers fresh seafood.

Our tour leader recommeded us to try out the yoghut stall. We ordered strawberry and wild berries yoghut.

After which, we went back to order some calamari and chips as our stomach are too full for seafood in the morning. Wasted!

On board the bus and heading to Blue Mountains National Park and enjoyed the panoramic stunning views of nature.

Proceed to Echo Point and see the famous Three Sisters Rock formation.

After seeing the three sister rock formation, we went for our lunch at Katoomba Canton Palace. It was our first time having to taste the meat of the kangaroo.

After our lunch, we continued our tour to the Scenic World.

Our last stop for the day is at Homebush Direct Factory Outlet for some shopping time. We went for our tea break.

After shopping, we headed back to our hotel. After which, we headed out for our dinner. A unique japanese ebi rice set with 'colourful decorations'. =x

25 Nov 2010 (Thursday) - Day 7 Sydney

Our free day and we spend our morning shopping at Paddy's Market.

After our shopping, we went for our lunch at the foodcourt. Craving for chinese food, and I ordered crispy noodles. Miss bubble tea too - i love their bubble tea.

After our lunch, we headed back to hotel to put our stuffs and continue with our shopping. Walking past the street, i had took quite a few photos of their building.

We had our last min shopping today at Paddy's Market. After which, we spent our time dazzling at george street before it become our memories.

Had our lunch at one of the street alley, Japanese style restaurant.

After which, we went for our bubble tea craving at Chatime. But the bubble tea was not as fantastic as the one at Paddy's Market.

Bubble tea at Australia is of standard. =x

1850 was our plane back to Singapore. I miss Melbourne and Sydney!

More than a month had past, and i am still craving for the long bean at Zilver Seafood Restaurant, chicken and vegetable noodles at Sydney Aqurarium as well as the pace in Australia.

Went shopping with sis in the afternoon around orchard area. After which, we had a rest to fill our stomach at orchard ion.

We went to buy Tsukiji Gindaco and.. it was my first time saying Tsukiji Gindaco was very delicious - crispy on the outside. Yum Yum!

Another round of eating, it seems to be my new found hobby. =x

25 June 2010 - After our errand, we went to Central for our dinner.

I ordered Cod Roe Pasta and meihui had her black ink pasta. =p

After which, we went for a stroll at clarke quay. We were pretty lucky to catch the performace by the river.

新传媒公主陈靓瑄在暂别演艺圈的最后一部作品《泳闯琴关》，再度以泳装出击，继04年的《任我遨游》后，二度"下水"，难怪她欲在泳池办欢送会！

陈靓瑄上月在《红星大奖》颁奖礼上获颁"十大最受欢迎女艺人奖"致词时说："...这可能是最后一次站在这个舞台上。"之后，她宣布6月与公司约满后不再续约，决定暂别娱乐圈重回校园念大学。

她目前忙于新剧《泳闯琴关》的拍摄，该剧以游泳为题材，她扮演立志进入国家队的阳光派游泳健儿，与黄俊雄饰演的帆船教练有感情戏，该剧其他演员包括戴阳天、李美玲、袁帅、潘玲玲、王昱清等。

xinmsn日前去《泳闯琴关》探班，独家专访了陈靓瑄，谈到这部新戏，她笑说："这是我入行以来戏份最重的戏，档期很满，我很努力在不够睡眠的情况下，演得很青春洋溢！哈哈！"（点击看陈靓瑄专访视频）

但，她拍的最过瘾是本地第一代"飞鱼"王昱清扮演她的父亲，两人有不少有趣的父女戏。

摆脱不了"露"的命运

靓瑄表示，《泳闯琴关》作为暂别演艺圈的最后一部作品，特别有意思，因为6年前，她是凭着同样以游泳为题材的《任我遨游》的冷傲角色引起观众的注意。

记者问她，二度拍游泳戏，肯定又得穿泳装，《任我》大穿比基尼在乌节路奔跑，这回又须不须要"露"呢？

靓瑄回答："这次穿的都是连身泳装，本来以为可以逃过（露），可是，有一场戏还是穿得挺少的！哈哈！"

原来那是一场她为了爱而牺牲，穿了较少、"露"得较多，替人洗车的镜头。

至于再度穿泳装出镜，靓瑄坦言："是有一些压力，好像美玲和其他特约演员，都比我年轻，让我想起当初的自己呀！"

虽然如此，她却透露，并没有为了该剧而积极减肥，只是平时喜欢运动，所以体能方面还可以。

报读商科想当女强人

谈起日后的发展，靓瑄强调，自己并非退出娱乐圈，而是暂别。《泳闯琴关》下个月杀青后，她将出国度假，回国后就要忙于学业了，但就读的大学和科系还未确定。

她告诉记者："我报读了本地和外国大学，都是商科系啦，因为我想投入一个跟娱乐圈完全不同的环境。"

是否想当商界女强人？她笑言："我不介意啊！哈哈！"

她也透露，以前非常向往到外国留学，因为觉得在外地念书很自由，现在反而会希望留在本地求学，因为留在新加坡不一定没自由。

艺人变学生，怕不怕在校园的一举一动受到关注？靓瑄说："我也是普通人嘛，同学久了就习惯了。受注目也不一定是坏事，可能同学比较愿意借我笔记！哈哈！"

粉丝不舍和祝福备受感动

靓瑄自宣布暂别演艺圈后，不少粉丝都心碎了。她希望借xinmsn告诉粉丝："收到许多粉丝的卡片，虽然他们很不舍，却尊重我的决定，这令我很安慰和感动，真的要谢谢他们。"

问她可否考虑办欢送会，她频点头说："要！一直想好好跟粉丝们聚一聚！"

刘芷绚前阵子在游艇上举办欢送会，靓瑄理想中的欢送会又是怎样的？

她说："在泳池吧！大家一起享用美食和观看《泳闯琴关》第一集，到时大家要穿泳装才能来，不过，我不用穿！哈哈！"

开玩笑后，她表示，会尽早定下欢送会细节，好能早日跟粉丝相聚一番。

21st may - A catch up session with my poly frens. Its always hard to find a correct timing for everyone to be able to meet up. Glad that some of them make the effort to turn up for this mini gathering. Really brought back memories of school days when we always attend lectures together, going out during our long breaks, playing cards during lunch time and even embracing through the exams.

I would like to thanks Janice for reminding me to meet up. Thanks Bruce for suggesting to go Outback Steakhouse as there were queue everywhere. Last but not least, thank you everyone who had attended this gathering. This gathering won't be possible without all for you. :)

So sorry, i wont try it for another time. The service provided by the restaurant was quite disappointing. I requested to sit at the window seats and the manager say that it was being reserved for the crowd. After i had finished my meal, there ain't any soul coming in. %&$#@

The Aglio Olio pasta is a little oily and the chicken chop taste ok.

Happy Go Lucky Gala Premiere at the Grand Cathay on 23 Feb 2010. Seriously this is the first event that i attended this year. =x

The event started at around 8.15pm. Waited for quite awhile before Fann Wong appeared at the gala with Christopher Lee. At the moment, camera were all uplifted to capture the moment where they walked in. Before that, guests were walking in, including Michelle Chia and Shuan Chen, some project superstars, mediacorp veterans and even Fann Wong parents.
